| As the
cold of November sets in, please remember to dress your child appropriately
for outdoor recess. In general, students who are well enough to attend
school are well enough to go outside for recess! Children will only be
kept indoors for recess if we have a doctor’s note. Bowe School is a large
building where the heat can be inconsistent, so please dress your child in
layers. The school is experiencing some difficulty with up to date phone numbers. Please make sure that if there is a change in your cell phone, home phone, or work phone, please let us know! We will be using our Connect Ed phone system to alert families of snow days and other important messages so please make sure we have your most up to date information! You may have read about the announcement about Bowe School’s opportunity to investigate an Extended Day Program. Bowe School received a modest amount of money to form a committee to look at the school day and see what impact lengthening the day would have on student achievement. A committee of teachers and staff is being put together to look at this idea. I am looking for a few parents who would like to join this committee to provide us with their perspective. If you would like to assist the school in this way, please call me at 594-3431. During the last week of November and first week of December, families will be invited to attend Parent Teacher Conferences. At the fall conference. families will receive their child’s report card. At Bowe School we strive to meet with every single child’s family. Please use this time to find out how your child is progressing in school and what you can do to work with your child at home to build on the successes started in school. Have a great Thanksgiving!!!
